Pitigliano quarry, Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy - An old specimen probably from late 80ies when the quarry was still operating. The rock is entirely composed by a grossular rich matrix that hosts a large vesuvianite crystal. The vesuvianite is 1x0.5x1 cm in size and stands on the edge of a cavity filled by 1-2 mm grossular crystals. Overall size is 6.5c5.5x4 cm.
