Poudrette Quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, Québec, Canada - Typical specimen of rhombohedral pink rhodochrosite crystals, associated with acicular green aegirine, highly fluorescent albite and elpidite crystals. Uchuchaccua Mine, Oyon, Peru - 3 cm wide exposed portion of a vug with translucent pink Rhodochrosite crystals. Good undamaged crystals to 1 cm in size ! nice termination on the main crystals,  contacts on the smaller crystals. Nice for the locality. Overall size is 6x3.3x2 cm.

Uchucchacua Mine, Oyon Province, Lima Department, Peru - A super rhodoscrosite specimen ! This rock hosts a biterminated rhodocrosite crystal of 1.6x1 cm in size ! Great color ! The crystal is gemmy ! Overal size is 2.7x2x2 cm

Sunnyside Mine, Bonita Peak, Gladstone, Eureka District, San Juan County, Colorado - The Sunnyside Mine produced some very well known Rhodochrosite specimens in its history, along with some attractive association pieces. This specimen features sharp, well-formed, attractive rhombohedra of notably RED colored Rhodochrosite which are associated with Quartz on matrix. The largest Rhodo crystal measures 7 mm, but the most imporant aspect is the RED color of the rhombs, as the vast majority of Sunnyside Rhodos are a shade of pink, and red crystals are very hard to find. Wessels Mine, North Cape Province, South Africa - This is a beautiful Rhodochrosite specimen from Wessels Mine. This very fine little specimen has a nice pink color. The specimen was trimmed with a trim saw at the bottom. It shows various rhodochroste spheroids and the main one is 0.7 cm in diameter. Real fine specimen from South Africa ! Overall size is 4.5 × 3.5 × 2.8 cm

Sweet Home mine, near Alma, Park County, Colorado, USA - The Sweet Home mine is world famous for its Rhodochrosite specimens. For those who don't know, Richard Kosnar and his father-in-law Dave Bergman mined the Sweet Home for a few years during the late 1970's and managed to collect some excellent specimens. This piece features a predominant, sharp, lustrous, gemmy, rich pinkish-red rhombohedron of Rhodochrosite measuring 1.1 cm across that is perched aesthetically on contrasting black Sphalerite matrxi with minor Pyrite. This is an unusual Rhodo from the Sweet Home as they are not often seen on Sphalerite like this. It would make a great addition to any Colorado suite, a Rhodo collection or a suite of thumbnail.
