FILONE DEI PASTORI, SANT ILARIO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - This locality has been worked in 2004 and now is exhausted. It produced interesting specimens, such as helvite and morganite crystals. This specimen hosts a terminated bicolor elbaite of 0.6 cm. There is an other similar elbaite partly hidden below a quartz crystal. All around there various quartz and feldspar crystals. Overall size is 5x4x3 cm.

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - In this open cavity there are half a dozen elbaite crystals, all terminated ! The crystals are nested among quartz and feldspar crystals. Their size is up to 0.8 cm. Nice rock of 8x4.5x4 cm

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Typical exmple of the structure of a crystallized vein inside the pockets of the pegmatite areas of Isola Elba. There is a 3 cm schorlite vein that shows various crystals throughout the specimen, nicely located close to quartz and feldspar crystals. The schorlite are up to 0.5 cm and some are biterminated. SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - This specimen hosts some waterclear quartz crystals with several terminated schorl crystals perched on them and among them ! The schorl are half a dozen, terminated and are up to 0.5 cm in size. There is also a beryl var. goshenite on the back of the specimen. Schorl and beryl is a frequent combination at the San Piero area. Overall size is 4.5x4.5x3.5 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - Showy schorlite crystals are well exposed on this rpck. The biggest is 1.1 cm long with perfect termination. There are other smaller all around. Overall size is 7.5x3x5 cm.

Facciatoia, San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - An old specimen from the historical quarry of Facciatoia, now defunct. There is a 0.4 cm terminated pink/red elbaite inside a cavity of the pegmatite vein. Lot of quartz crystals all around and a grey orthoclase. The grey color is a classic for Facciatoia. Overall size is 5x4.5x3.5 cm
