San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - There are almost a dozen elbaites on this rock ! They show a classic brown color with a lighter top, almost transparent in some of them. Their size is up to 0.8 cm. Very nice specimen of 4.5x3x2 cm in size

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Among the most rare tourmalines found in the pockets of the pegmatites of Isola Elba there is moor's head elbaites. We had been lucky this time and we got 2 perfectly terminated acroites with such Moor's head ! very nice terminated crystals of 1 cm in size nicely located in an open cavity close to a white feldspar crystal of 2 cm in size. Nice rock of 7x7x4 cm in size

San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - It happens to find nice elbaites hidden inside some cavities. This is one ! There are 5 multicolor elbaites all together in this cavity. The most evident is the one grown on a quartz crystal ! This elbaite is 0.5 cm in size and has close to it an other that is 0.8 cm ! some light pink feldspar complete the picture of the cavity. Nice specimen of 6.5x6x3.8 cm

SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Nicely terminated elbaite of 1.3 cm is located among feldspar crystals ! The elbaites is perfectly terminated and though dark in color, it shows a deep brown color ! Great contrast on the matrix ! Overall size is 4x4x3.5 cm.

FILONE DEI PASTORI, SANT ILARIO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - This locality has been worked in 2004 and now is exhausted. It produced interesting specimens, such as helvite and morganite crystals. This specimen hosts a terminated bicolor elbaite of 0.6 cm. There is an other similar elbaite partly hidden below a quartz crystal. All around there various quartz and feldspar crystals. Overall size is 5x4x3 cm.

SANT ILARIO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - This specimen is from an exhausted pegmatite vein known as Pastori pocket. Worked in 2004, it produced several nice specimens of elbaite and foitite. This specimen hosts several bright white feldspar crystals up to 1-1.5 cm on the edge and a nice amount of 2-4 mm albite crystals. Inside an open cavity an undamaged cemtimentric elbaite emerges with a consistent amount of foitet on its top ! overall size of this specimen is 11x6.5x5 cm.
