SAN FILIPPO MINE, MONTE AMIATA, SIENA, ITALY - An old timer. This specimen is from an old collection. It has been found in 1978 and shows a large nodule of cinnabar (6x6 cm in size) with a great abundance of tiny/micro crystals. There are also small schalenoedric crystals of calcite. Quite heavy rock ! overall size is 12x10x7 cm. Old labels also.

ABBADIA SAN SALVATORE MINE, MONTE AMIATA, SIENA, ITALY - A heavy cinnabar specimen, with several open cavities with a lot of cinnabar crystals ! The color is bright red, as usual for this species. Overall size is 7.5x4.5x4 cm.

Not easy to find such large old timer specimen from this well known locality ! The whole rock is 7.5x6x4 cm in size.

MONTE LABBRO, MONTE AMIATA, SIENA, ITALY - This specimen is from one of the old locations where cinnabar was extracted in ancient times. It is a cinnabar matrix completely covered by tiny micro cinnabar crystals. Quite heavy rock ! Overall size is 7x4x3.5 cm. It comes with old labels. Found in 1960.
