SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - Spessartite has been found inside the pockets of the Elba pegmatites only in few occasions. The last one was in 1994 when the Rosina dike was found and exhausted ! This specimen is from that finding. There is a nicely terminated crystal of 0.4 cm and smaller one close to it. Overall size is 4.5x3x2 cm.
SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, ITALY - The orange color of these spessartines are well visible on the white albite and feldspar matrix. The spessartines are up to 0.5 cm in size. Overall size is 5.5x5x4 cm.
San Piero, Isola Elba, Livorno, Italy - Single spessartine crystal on small matrix. The crystal is 0.3 cm in size. Overall size is 1.3x1.2x1 cm.
SAN PIERO, ISOLA ELBA, LIVORNO, ITALY - There are various deep orange/red spessartines on this rock, all nested in the albite coated feldspars. The spessartines are up to 0.4 cm. Nice rock of 5x4x2 cm. 1994 finding.
